Diva challenge no. 142: fengle & quandary duotangle

I can't believe it... two Diva challenges in two days! All is right with the world.

This week's challenge- and it really was a challenge- is to draw a tangle using only fengle and (variations of) quandary. It's not exactly my favorite tile ever, but since Zentangle is about the process and not the product, I'm gonna go ahead and put it out into the tangleverse. This is a truly agonizing process for a perfectionist, because I can't stop thinking about how much better this would be if I'd just drawn ONE fengle with the other stuff radiating out from one central point. It's not that I hate this drawing... I'm just sayin'.

. o O (Let it go, Sandy... just let it be what it is!)

I tinkered with this tile in photoshop and got a rather cool effect. Thanks to Laura for the challenge (and to Adobe for their 'glowing edges' filter. hee hee).

Well, I couldn't leave it alone after all... much happier with this one--
done with a micron, watercolor and a waterbrush, and one verrrry sparkly Swarovski crystal.

  1. Great tiles. I like your fengles embracing each other. Great work.

  2. Lovely! I love your open Fengles. They look great!

  3. Wonderful! Your Fengle is great here!

  4. I really like your tile! I had to giggle to myself, because it looks like you and I were on the same page with quandary!!! we made them into lines. I thought that was kind of interesting. They are all beautiful! :0) Peace be Yours

  5. You were quite busy with a lovely result.

  6. All look great. I like how you Fengle interlocking in the center. Do not think I have seen that before. Looks great.

  7. All of your tiles are really nice.

  8. Al of them are nice, but the first one is a very beautiful art of drawing Fengle. Great!

  9. Both lovely tiles -- but I love, love, love your lacy Fengle in the last one!

  10. I'm a new CZT - just found your blog. I'm a perfectionist too ... it's a profound form of self-abuse, you know! I love your duo-tangle - all 3 renditions. And, like Margaret Bremner, I think your blog wallpaper is fabulous! Did you draw it yourself?

Jan Brandt, CZT #12, Reno, NV

  11. thanks, Jan! Yes, I did draw it. I'm pretty sure it was a diva challenge...most of my favorite tiles have been! congrats on becoming a CZT :o)

  12. Beautiful tiles and nice experimentation.
